Hello there!

Well, aren't I the terrible DT member this week! I totally forgot to post this on Saturday morning for the new challenge over at Pike's Playground....ooops! Must have been all that Monster Jam excitement with the cub scouts that had my mind elsewhere! Anyhoo, I'm sure if you're a Dustin fan you'll have already seen the latest challenge posted on his blog...if not, check it out HERE This week we are asking you to do a color challenge using any of these colors RED, PURPLE, BLACK, BROWN AND PINK! There, it's that easy...but don't forget to use a Dustin Pike image in order to enter! I'll keep this short as I have another post to make for later on!

Hello fellow doodle dragon peeps!

For my card this week I chose to color Dudley and his hot dogs, as we've been having a few BBQ's lately in our house, and I found this fabby quote and couldn't have put it with a more perfect image!! Te he!

My interpretation of the sketch is a little different but I think if you look closely enough you can see it!

Well I'm actually off to another BBQ this afternoon, so I'll leave you all with some encouragement to fly over to Dustin's place and play along with us!

DOODLE DRAGON STUDIOS - BIRTHDAY CHALLENGE

Good Morning and Happy Sunday to you all!

It's time for another challenge over at Dustin's place and this is a really special one as it's DUSTIN'S BIRTHDAY!!!! We are asking you to make a birthday project using one of Dustin's cute images and enter the challenge HERE and as we know Dustin will always be a kid at heart let's see how creative you can get! I chose one of his images from the December Members set. So if you want this cutie pie then you'll need to get the 2012 membership which you can find HERE It works out at just $6.60 for 40 images a month!

For my card I colored the image in pencil crayons for a change, it's been a while since I've used them.

Here's the inside as Dustin has such a great sense of humor he won't mind my comment about the brownie points!

The dp and ribbon are from my stash, leaves and doily from Michael's and the die is from Spellbinders.

My first project was a tag card using one of Dustin's sweet little mice! I used one of the tag cards I found in Micheal's for a great deal and I'm so happy with the design.

This is the inside which I decorated in the same dp and added another doily and little Christmas decoration.

Here's a closeup of Dustin's mouse which I colored in copics then layered up three times for some nice dimension. Of course it wouldn't be complete without adding some stickles for the snow!

The second project I made was an altered box that will be a gift for someone special. I've had this image from last year and had not made anything with it until now, but it's been one of my all time favorites from Dustin

Here's the box laying down so you can see how I ruffled the ribbon. I added some snowflake edging, lace from my stash and the poinsettia and leaf are from Michael's. Wide ribbon I think if from Michael's too.

Well, I'm hoping to be able to find the time to create some more Christmas goodies over the next couple of weeks but we'll see how that goes!

DOODLE DRAGON STUDIOS - NON TRADITIONAL CHRISTMAS COLORS

It's Sunday again and time for another Doodle Dragon Studio challenge (Pike's Playground)! We are asking you to create something using one of Dustin's cute images in Non-Traditional Christmas Colors.

That was actually a hard challenge for me, to go for something non-traditional! I did cheat a bit though as I had this Christmas dp in shades of purple, black, pink and green so that made my decision for me!

I found these tag shaped cards at Micheal's for about $1.00 and I have to say I love them. Very simple to create with but something new for me and I'll definately be creating with more of them.

I chose one of Dustin's sweet reindeer to color from his Woodland Fall collection.

PAPER AND PIXELS MAGAZINE PUBLICATION

Good Morning!

I wanted to share this set I made a while ago for an online magazine called Paper and Pixels. Dustin Pike had a great article on there and asked some of the DT to create something using his images. So of course, as Dustin was published so were the team members who participated, and I was lucky enough to be one of them.

I chose a couple of Dustin's adorable penguins from his 100 days of Christmas line to use on my projects. I made an easel card with matching envelope and decorated a paper bag to be used for a Christmas gift. I really enjoyed making this set and hope you like how it turned out.

DOODLE DRAGON STUDIOS - ANYTHING CHRISTMAS CHALLENGE

It's time to play Dustin's way! Over at Dustin's playground today the challenge is an easy one and will help you get your Christmas cards done this year....well at least one of them! The challenge is to make Anything Christmas! Easy right! I decided to make a gift card set using two of Dustin's images from his 100 days of Christmas set which you can find HERE.

My card is using image #33 and the gift card is with image #30. Both are colored in copics with the addition of stickles some snowflakes (Michael's) and ribbon from my stash.

Well it's Monday again and the weekends fly by way too fast for me, but at least I had an extra day added on for Veterans Day weekend this time! I took the time off and went with my two boys down to the Florida Keys for some sea air and relaxation time! Now that I'm back I have a bunch of things to catch up on...yikes!

Hello fellow crafters!
Today I'm not feeling too happy as I write this post. Sometimes I guess we all have bad days and this one is one of those for me. I've had a horrible migraine for the last couple of days and on top of that to learn that the very sweet and talented fellow crafter Katie Emerson Renz passed away yesterday from her tough year long battle with cancer. If you have been following her journey you know she has been such a warrior and wanted so much to beat this disease. My condolences go out to her entire family at this very difficult time.

As you can see this lovely sweet bear is so ready for Winter and I feel the same way, although it never really feels like Winter here in Miami! I colored the image in copics then added lots of stickles for added shine. The dp is from SEI called Winter Song and is one of my favs. The ribbon and gems are from Micheal's and sentiment sticker is from Martha Stewart.

I have to share with you that I had a very proud mommy moment yesterday when my son's report card came home. He received straight A's on all his subjects and his teacher acknowledged that his writing and logical thinking show exceptional vocabulary development for his age. Whoo hoo! I'm just so proud :)

DOODLE DRAGON STUDIOS CHALLENGE - SPARKLE AND BLING

Happy Sunday!

Yes I know I'm late making my post today but at least I'm here now! Over at Pike's Playground we are having another challenge and this week we're asking you to use one of Dustin's adorable images to produce something with lots of Bling! My card does have lots of shine but it's hard to get a good picture to show it! The image I colored in copics then added some Christmas colored stickles and lots of glaze on the cup. Around the outer edges I added more stickles in Diamond color. Stitching and gems add to the bling to complete my project, and I have to say I love how this one came out!

For my card this week I used one of my Tilda images that I got last year. I don't have too many of them but I like this one with her little candy cane. I colored her in copics, then added lots of Diamond stickles to give some sparkle. As you'll see on my photos below, I got a little carried away with the stickles!! But I like how it turned out.

There's lots of embossing too and I used a Martha Stewart punch on the bottom of the card, then used one of my architectural corners dies at the top.

The satin ribbon and flower are from my stash and the sentiment too, it's one of those peal and stick thingies! Thanks for stopping by, I really appreciate it!

For my card this week I chose another Dustin Pike cutie to color! I just love this little wizard kitty. I colored him in copics then added lots of stickles to add some sparkle! The dp is from Target, the dollar section! The ghosts at the bottom of the card are also from Dustin Pike and the ones at the top were cut from one of the sheets of dp. The Boo ribbon is from my stash and so is the bat ribbon. I just added some stickles for their eyes.

DOODLE DRAGON STUDIOS CHALLENGE - SPOOKTACULAR

Good Morning and Happy Sunday to you all!

I almost forgot to get my card ready for this weeks challenge as I seem to have lost a day somewhere on my travels!!! Well I didn't have time to get it in for Dustin's post but at least it's here! Better late than never. The challenge this week is to make something "Spooktacular" using one of Dustin's images. I chose this cute puppy dressed as a mummy for my card and had this cute dp and cardboard words from Target that fit perfectly with the image.

The inside I couldn't resist to finish off too with the "Yikes, Mummy!" As we say in the UK, mummy instead of mommy, it kind of has a slightly different meaning!!

Anyway, I hope you'll join us this week for this fun challenge and show us how Spooktacular you can get!

This week I used a D'Amour Allure image called Sadie's Floral Hat which you can find HERE and I have to admit that I love the way my card turned out. The dp is from Paper Temptress but I don't remember the names, sorry! The papers are divine and speak for themselves really, super quality and beautiful sheen and embossing. I colored the image in copics, added some Martha Stewart ink around the edges, then stitched on the image and background dp to really make the image stand out. The ribbon is from Jo Ann's, leaves from a Martha Stewart punch, flowers from Prima and D'Amour Allure.

DOODLE DRAGON STUDIOS CHALLENGE - MAKE US LAUGH

Happy Sunday everyone!

I hope you have all enjoyed the first part of your weekend, and will make the most of the rest of it. Personally Monday mornings always come around too soon, don't you think? I've been playing double duty this past week as my DH is overseas and I really miss his company. I'm so looking forward to his return and I know my sweet boy will be happy to have his daddy back too.

This week over at Pike's Playground we are having another challenge and this one is for you to make us laugh- with humor cards or projects. I had this one in mind for a while as the first time I heard this little rhyme it cracked me up laughing. I love the expression of the Halloween kitty and know I'll definately be using this one again. I colored kitty in copics then used some embossed dp that I picked up in the dollar section at Target! I hope you'll hop on over and play along with us this week.

For my card this week I used this adorable image from Stamp and Create. I colored it in shades of gray (except for the hair and skin of course!) and added some gloss on the boots and umbrella, and sparkles too.

I cut the butterfly out of a Martha Stewart punch, then added stickles and pearls.

My card this week is using this gorgeous digi from Priscilla. I just love these ice skates as they remind me of watching the ice skaters during my time in Holland. They also bring back memories of when I broke my arm on New Years Eve when I slipped on a pond while ice skating (well trying to ice skate anyway!!!)

DOODLE DRAGON STUDIOS CHALLENGE - STARS AND STRIPES

Happy Sunday to you all!

It's time for another Pike's Playground challenge and this time we are asking for stars and stripes to be included in your creation. You can include one or the other or both if you wish. For my card I chose to do a Christmas card using one of Dustin's cute snowmen holding a star. I colored him in copics and stickles then added some stitching, ribbon (to make my stripes) and some decorative corners. Although the photo doesn't show it there is a lot of sparkles on this card, not only on the snowman but also the corner details too.

I hope you will come and play along with us today and show us your stars and stripes.
As I write todays post I'm reminded that this is a day in history that we need to remember all those innocent people who lost thier lives, and the many service men and women who are still overseas fighting on our behalf. My thoughts and prayers go to all those who were directly affected by this tragedy.
May we never forget!

WOW, now that was a lot of stuff to cover! Onto the sketch this week....I chose a Doodle Pantry image to color and had so much fun with these little ants! I colored them with copics then added some stickles on the earth and glossed over the lollipop to make it look wet.

I added a little grass behind my flower, embossed the white dp and added some fancy gems and that's it!

For my creation this week I made an altered clip board. I'd found some at staples and thought I'd have a go at getting creative with it and I have to say I'm pleased with how it turned out.

I used a Tilda Christmas stamp, colored her in copics, glazed over her candy cane and put stickles on her wings. Lots of lace around the edges of the clip board...and yes, I actually finished both sides of it! I didn't want to make the embellishments too thick otherwise the clip board wouldn't hold my papers, so I went on the flat side of things, except for the pen of course.

DP is from Tim Holtz, lace from JoAnn's, flowers from my stash and snowflake and gems from Michael's.

DOODLE DRAGON STUDIOS CHALLENGE - YUMMY IN YOUR TUMMY!

Good Morning!

It's Sunday already and time for another challenge over at Pike's Playground, this time we are asking you to create something with the theme "Yummy in your tummy". Please remember to use one of Dustin's images for the challenge otherwise you will be disqualified from the challenge.

With all the heat and humidity here lately I figured a good lollipop image would be just perfect, even if it is melting!!I colored Dustin's image with copics then added some glaze to the lollipop and of course the melting parts too to make it look as if it's actually melting!! I love how it turned out! The dp is from my stash, just remnants I had. The flower was made using a dark red floral accent from Michael's then placing some ric rac on top and finishing it off with a little Prima flower.

Good Morning!
I hope you are all enjoying a good beginning to a new week and enjoying some free time if you are like me, and have your children back in school! I have to say that even though my little one started school yesterday I really missed having him with me while I ran my errands. He went to his first day happy and came home happy (even though he had homework), so I was really relieved that his day had gone well and his teacher seems really sweet and caring.

For my card this week I used Priscilla's beautiful butterfly digi and colored it in copics. The dp is called Que sera sera from K&Co. and it has some gorgeous shine to it. I mounted the image on a black background to really make it pop then added a doily, and a metal oval frame to place my journey word in.

This week I'm taking my time enjoying each day with my little one before he begins the new school year next week. I can't believe that the 12 weeks have almost passed by already since the end of school. I'm going to be sad next week for sure when he is not with me all day! Here is this week's Sketch

For my project this week I chose to make a card and tag for Christmas, the first for me this year! I've had this sweet little "Sticky" elf image for such a long time now and never actually used it. He is from the very talented Mo Maning, you can find him HERE I'm sure you've seen him around before!

Here's a picture of my set together. I love the way they turned out and look forward to using them this Christmas and sending them to someone special!

DOODLE DRAGON STUDIOS CHALLENGE - BUTTONS OR CHARM

Happy Sunday folks!

I hope you are all enjoying your weekend and having some fun crafting or taking a break and getting some relaxing in before school begins again! Over at Pike's Playground we have another challenge for you. This week we would like to see you create something with either buttons or charms or both if you wish. Don't forget to use one of Dustin's images though!

For my card this week I used Dustin's flamingo which you can find in the zoo set HERE and decided to go with lots of glitter, a few swirls and a metal heart shaped charm for some added bling! I colored the flamingo in copics, added some stickles and inked the edges of the image. I stitched around my card and added some punch details on the lower part, added a paper doily, ribbon and some gems and that's all there is to it!

for my card this week I chose this gorgeous image from Priscilla. Isn't she just the sweetest young girl laying in the grass enjoying the fireflies! I knew exactly what I wanted to create when I saw this image and I'm super happy with how it turned out.

Below is a close up of the flowers. The large flower is made up from petals I got from Oriental Trading about two years ago and sadly these are the last in my stash and I haven't been able to get the same ones again. The small flowers are from Prima.

For my card this week I used this sweet image from annabelles and colored it in copics. Nothing really went as I had originally planned for this card as I wanted to do lots of embossing and die cuts but after I cut the label and image out my Big Shot machine decided not to work anymore, so I was left to rethink my design! (I also cut too close on the I love you part, but by this time I was not in the mood to recolor another image!) I then decided to use some patterned paper instead to give it some details and I actually do like how it turned out in the end. Unusual colors for me but sometimes I guess even I have to think outside the box!!! LOL For the back of my card I made a pocket with label to write a sentiment on.

So that's it for today! Hopefully my next creation will go with less mishaps!!

DOODLE DRAGON CHALLENGE - GIRL POWER

Good Morning folks!

It's Sunday and time for another challenge over at Pike's Playground and this time we are asking you to use one of Dustin's images and make a Girly card or project. For my card I used this one of Dustin's dragons and of course as it's a girly project I had to color her pink! I also added some glitter to her fins/flippers and mask! Hey you have to look good even when snorkeling right!!! LOL

I'm on a role with easel cards lately and I have more to come! I just love the way they show everything at once, inside and front! I wish I could remember the name of this awesome background dp but I don't! Sorry! I thought it was a great addition as it reminded me of water drops and what better for a background for my little snorkel dragon! I colored the image in copics, added stickles in Diamond, ric rac is from JoAnn's and flowers from Michael's. That's about it!

Good Morning everyone!
I'm writing today's post with a little mixed emotions as we have to say goodbye to one of our DT members, Lovely Linda. She has played along with us here on Midnight Madness from the start, became a guest designer and finally a part of the MM team. My feelings are mixed because she has become such an integrel part of this team and is one of the most positive people I have met in blogland, and inspiring to everyone she comes into contact with. My sadness is partnered with happiness for her future endeavors as I know she is going to do amazing things. My best wishes go to Linda and I know she won't be a stranger around the blogging world. We love you Linda!

For my project this week I decided to alter a box and make it into a keepsake for something special! Not sure what that special something is yet but I'll find something! I started this by sponging the outside with a pretty "Natural Flourishes" stencil from Layers of Color in Martha Stewart ink Blue Sky.

The flower center creation was made using Petaloo flowers "assorted Layers" and "Mini Rose clusters". I sponged them with the same Martha Stewart ink, then sparkled the edges with Stickles in Baby Blue and Waterfall.

MIDNIGHT MADNESS (MMSC113)

Happy Tuesday folks!

So how was your weekend? Great I hope with lots of fun stuff! For us it was time to get a little of the garden organized! I've neglected it for so long that the weeds were getting tall in our vegetable garden and I've been wanting to get it cleaned out for ages but never seemed to have the time. We visited the garden section of our local Home Depot and picked up just a few new plants to see how they grow this year. We have tomato, peppers, lettuce, blueberries and blackberry plants....I didn't even know they would grow here in Miami!!! LOL Anyway, it is nice to see the two veggie boxes planted again (one with flowers, the other with the fruits and veggies), and I'll keep you all posted as to how they grow! Might have an issue with the little garden lizards again which devoured my moonflowers last year and I was totally disheartened by that!

It's another challenge over at Midnight Madness and I really enjoyed making this card as it was a fun challenge not to have one main image this time! Are you all ready to play?

My projects this week were a card and little mini gift bag using the beautiful flowers from Petaloo! It was hard to get a good photo this time as they seemed to disappear against the white background and the sun was so strong outside that it was not a good photo either, so I ended up taking a photo in my bathroom to get a neutral but better background!

DOODLE DRAGON STUDIO CHALLENGE - ANIMALS RULE!

Good Morning Folks!

It's good to be back after my vacation and I'm looking forward to actually getting around to all your blogs again, once I'm caught up with the chores! That's the downside of going away, right, there's always lots of laundry to catch up on when you return! Anyway, it's another day for another challenge over at Pike's Playground today and this time we are asking you to make a card or project with the theme of "Animals Rule" using one of Dustin's images.

For my card I used a few of Dustin's adorable zoo animals which were colored in copics, and I made a kind of a step card, it's really a combination of an easel and step card, but I'm happy with how it turned out and hopefully the little boy who recieved the card is happy with it too!

I had a lot of fun coloring these critters and I'm sure you will if you decide to use them too! You can find them all HERE and believe me you don't want to pass these up as Dustin has them as a set for only $1.00! Yes, that's right, all these images below for just $1.00! MIDNIGHT MADNESS (MMSC112)

Good Morning my fellow bloggers!

Well it's time for me to catch up with a bunch of things now that I'm back from my vacation, and get back into the swing of daily life. Canada was great and we had fabulous weather during our trip, better than what Florida had while we were away! We flew in to Montreal and spent a couple of days there, then drove via Ottawa to our little rented house in the woods! I think for us our favorite area was Niagara Falls, which is so beautiful, especially at night when they put the colored lights on the waterfalls. While we were there we were lucky to see some wildlife too, some deer, little chipmunks, and some black squirrels! OK enough about my vacation and onto the other important stuff going on at Midnight Madness~

For my projects this week I have a card made with an image from D'Amour Allure and flowers from Petaloo and my altered box is using flowers from Petaloo.

The image is called Arabella. The flowers on the card were stained with brewed coffee granuals that were cooled and squeezed out onto them. When they were dry I edged them with a copic pen in pale sepia.

The flowers on the box were stained with Moon glow's starburst stains in Autumn Maple Crimson from Lindy's Stamp Gang and water. I painted them in different strengths of the starburst stain to make them look realistic.

The corners were made with a Sizzix Sizzlits die from the Architectural Accents set. Lace is from my stash and gems from Micheal's.

Here's a closeup of the flowers, don't they look pretty? I love how my project turned out and am really loving these fabulous Petaloo flowers.

I have to tell you that when I first got the flowers from Petaloo I was like WOW, there were so many to choose from, but the thought of actually coloring them myself was a little scary! However, when I started with them, I couldn't stop and really loved playing around with the different flowers and various mediums to create my own look.

All the flowers on my projects are from petaloo Color Me Crazy collection which you can see HERE! On my gratitude journal I used "Orchid Spray Phalaenopsis" as my main image then the "mini rose clusters" on the outside.

I created my flowers by first staining with MoonGlows Starburst Sprays in Tiffany Blue, then when that was dry I dabbed them with Starburst dauber in Creme Brulee Creme and touched them around the edges with stickles in Waterfall. The starburst stains can be found HERE at Lindy's Stamp Gang.

For my matching card I used flowers from the assorted layers group and the butterflies from the silhouette shapes collection called Butterflies and Dragonflies.

The butterflies were painted the same as the orchids but the main flower I brushed with Martha Stewart ink called Blue Sky then treated them with some sparkles from Stickles in Waterfall.

As you can see I took lots of photos of these projects, can you tell I love these flowers!!!

Here's a closeup of the butterfly so you can see the gentle shading effect that was created with the starburst stains.

For the center of my flower I used a left over metal piece from a bracelet I made a while ago, which has that pretty blue gem in the middle. I believe that was from Micheal's in the jewelry making department.

My card was created with Shelly's image called "close to my heart". Isn't it just beautiful!

I have to say that I wasn't sure if I could do justice to this sweet image when I got it, but now it's finished I'm actually really happy with how it turned out! I loved coloring it even though I wasn't sure of the colors to use initially but once I got playing with my copics, it all just came together so nicely. I've always been a bit intimidated by horses so it was a little challenge for me to create with it!! LOL I think they are beautiful animals but I've only been riding one time and that was a scary experience....in the mountains of Colombia of all places. Anyway, I was told that I had the most docile horse out of everyone but then she decided to take off with me in tow, through the steep mountains with my fear of heights!!! I was terrified to pull the reins too hard (as I'd been instructed to not do that) and I didn't want the horse to rear up and me fall off the back, but I couldn't get the horse to stop. Eventually the guys came to my rescue and I was left feeling like a complete idiot!!! Anyway, enough of my wandering horse experience! Here's a couple of close ups of the flowers and little Joy sign.

As you can see I made two cards this week, one for each sponsor. The first card is made with a KennyK image called MadisonAvenue. I colored her in copics and popped her up on foam dots. The dp is from K&Co. Berry Sweet stack.

I used the dp for the flower and leaves, just cutting them from the paper and layering them up. Added some pretty pink gems from Micheal's and some stitching to my card and voila!

For my card this week I used one of Dustin Pike's images. I love this surfing dragon as it reminds me of the summer and going to the ocean! Speaking of which, I took Thijs to the ocean last week and we enjoyed the day there, the only down side was that there was a warning for man-o-wars!! Luckily we didn't come across any when we were in the water! Should have taken surfing dragon with me to fight them off!!

I colored the image with copics then layered it on some blue and white cardstock. The dp was embossed with two different folders to give a little extra dimension. The star word stones are some I had in my stash, but I think I bought them at Michael's a while ago!

Happy Tuesday folks!

Time for another Midnight Madness sketch challenge....are you ready? My time has been somewhat limited where my crafting is concerned since Thijs finished school, as I've been trying to spend some quality time with him doing some fun stuff before his summer camp starts. So we've been swimming most days, been to the movies, the zoo, a waterpark and to the book store, all in one week!!! Exhausting days but so worth it to have such a happy little boy! Anyway, I will get caught up eventually!!!

My card was made using an image from Kenny K which I colored in copics. The background dp is leftovers from my stash, and the swirls and corners were made with a sizzix die. I sponged the edges of the image and label with Martha Stewart ink.

DOODLE DRAGON CHALLENGE - IT'S A BOY THING!

It's playtime at Pike's Playground today!

Time for another Doodle Dragon Studios challenge and this one is "It's a Boy Thing!" So whether you make a card for Father's day, a masculine birthday, or a Baby boy card it's up to you. Just remember to use one of Dustin's images to create something for a Boy. I had fun with this hippo image, the summer's almost here, school's out, and it looks like this hippos heading for the beach. That's hopefully where I will be next week, heading to the beach with my son! It's nice to go an relax on the sand if only for a day!

I colored this image in copics, used some left over dp from my ever increasing stash pile, added some stitching and cardboard buttons. The corner paper was cut using decorator edge scissors.

STUDIO313 HOTSPOT CHALLENGE - LASER CUT DETAILS

Good Morning and Happy June 1st!

This week we have a new challenge for you over at Studio313 Hotspot which is asking you to have Laser Cut Details on your creations. This could be punches or dies to create a laser cut appearance. For some fabulous inspiration please check out the challenge site HERE and these pictures should give you some ideas too.

Aren't these awesome? I love the bag and the boot, totally cool designs!

For my creation this week I used one of Shawne's fun images Bertie in the bath which is actually pre-colored by Shawne.

I added some blue raindrops then some stickles on top of them to give a little sparkle

Behind my flower I cut some leaves using a Martha Stewart leaf punch and the background dp is also cut with a Martha Stewart punch and embossed with a Swiss dots embossing folder.

I cut out one Bertie image to double layer and the bath sign was layered too to give a little more dimension.

MIDNIGHT MADNESS (MMSC106)

Good Morning folks!
Hope you all had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend and stayed safe during the celebrations. I can't believe we're already in the last day of May and going to start June tomorrow! Almost half the year is over already and I feel as though it just started. Well, my son is officially out of school for the summer and has a whopping 12 weeks off! The end of year celebrations went well and Thijs came away with a few very lovely awards for all his hard work and we couldn't be more proud of him. I think all my rushing around though caught up with me in the way of a migraine headache that really whipped me out. I'm so glad I don't have too many of them but this one actually made me nauseous too! Not a nice way to begin the summer holidays that's for sure!
Well, onto our Midnight Madness stuff this week and we once again have a lovely sketch for you all to play along with!

For my card this week I chose to use one of my own images and this one I've had for a while but just never used. It's from Elisabeth Bell and was so much fun to color. The card actually came out a little too plain for my usual baby cards but as I wasn't feeling well I kinda had to go with what I could do with a trobbing headache!

The image was colored in copics and prismacolored pencils. Edge punch was from Martha Stewart at Michael's

Teddy and hand buttons from JoAnn's fabrics. I just cut the button holder in the back off so they are actually flat now and stuck them on the card with foam dots.

Label was made from Nesties label maker, word stone from JoAnn's and embossing folder is swiss dots.

MIDNIGHT MADNESS (MMSC105)

Good Morning Folks!

Hope you all had a great weekend! My weekend began on a happy note after my son's Luau party on Friday morning. His first grade class had an absolute blast on the water slide, throwing water balloons, playing with hula hoops and enjoying a barbecue! Lots of planning but so worth it in the end. On Sunday we had a birthday party to attend and all was going well until one of Thijs' classmates fell on his head and was knocked unconscious! What a frightening experience it was not only for his parents but for all the other parents and children as well. Seeing this little boy not respond was very distressing but fortunately he came round by the time paramedics arrived. He was taken to the hospital on a stretcher and stayed there overnight for observation. The whole class made him get well cards in school yesterday so when he returns he will feel all their love. With situations like this it makes you realise just how quickly a life can change! Makes you appreciate each and every moment!

My card this week is from Dude Time Doodles (Boniebleux Designs) and yes I used it a couple of weeks ago! This time I was trying something new for me. It's the first time I've used a digi and colored it one color! I was trying for the sepia effect like the old fashioned photographs, and whether I was successful or not I like how it turned out. I raided DH's garage for the washers and other metal embellishments!! LOL oh and the ribbon is all from Really Reasonable Ribbon.

I hope you are all having a relaxing day and have enjoyed your weekend so far. I'm off to a children's birthday party later this afternoon so I'm making the most of some peace and quiet before we go!

Over at Doodle Dragon Studios we are having another challenge and this one is to do shades of green. I chose an image from Dustin Pike that I'd previously colored for Mother's day but didn't get it onto a card until now. You can find this image HERE in the Mother's day set. The photo really doesn't show my green dp off very good as it really looks much greener in real life!

I colored my image in copics, added some zig zag stitching to the background dp, some silky ribbon and gems.

This week I used an image from Sparkle Creations called Cruisin' Chloe and I love it! There are many possibilities for this image and I can't wait to make another one with a different colored VW bug!! I initially thought psychedelic for this image but just couldn't get the background correct so it ended up being far from my original plan.

Happy Tuesday!
Hope you all enjoyed your weekend and got to do something fun. My weekend was a good one, on Saturday Thijs helped his daddy change the oil on the truck and it was so funny to see him excited about getting oil in his hair, he didn't want to wash it out!! He is so proud to be just like daddy! Then we had friends over for the afternoon and into the evening, we kinda lost track of time! On Sunday we enjoyed swimming and a barbecue at my in-laws. This was a much needed relaxing weekend after the super busy week I had trying to get all the things organized for teacher appreciation week! Phew, glad that's over with!! Over at Midnight Madness we are celebrating being around for 2 years already! Can you believe it!

My card this week, was made using a fabulous digi from McMahon Five Designs. I just love this digi and it was fun to color. Strawberries are my favorite fruit so I was munching on some while coloring it!!

I figured I'd save this card to give to one of the teacher's at the end of the year.

I colored my image in copics, embossed the background dp and added some extra strawberries on the little squares on the bottom. A little stickles on the bee and flowers to add some sparkle!

Happy Mother's Day to all the wonderful Mom's in blogland who are celebrating Mother's Day today! My wish is for you all to get treated like the special Mom's you are and for you all to truely enjoy YOUR DAY!

Over at Doodle Dragon Studios we have another challenge for you to play along with! This one is fun as everyone will get to create something with the same freebie and personally I can't wait to see what you all come up with!

When I started coloring the image the song by Chuck Berry stuck in my mind "Riding along in my automobile" and it just wouldn't go away! I was trying to think of some ideas for the teacher's end of year cards I'm going to make, and I thought about the PE coach (as he drives a pick up truck). How wonderful for him to actually have the time during the summer to actually just get in his truck and not have to be at school as his usual designated time! Literally driving along with no particular place to go!! Te he! So there you have it, little Dudley driving along leasurely on his monster truck! I colored Dudley in copics and popped him up on foam dots, added a few little buttons and voila! The dp was left over in my scrap box so I'm not sure where it came from, the buttons are from Michael's.

Before I leave, I want to add that Dustin is doing a card drive for a sweet 9 year old boy called Dylan who has an inoperable brain tumor. Wow, that means I've been on here for two years too as I was one of the origianl team members...how cool is that! Priscilla has done an amazing job with this sketch challenge and if I know her at all she has big plans for the future too! Not sure how she still comes up with so many different sketches but she does. On top of that she also manages to keep us on our toes and is so organized. But the team wouldn't be the team if it wasn't for the lovely ladies who are like family. There is always so much creativity going on that they still amaze me week after week. Here's a closer look at my card with this fun image and sentiment!

Now I have to tell you that a masculine card is somewhat of a challenge for me to make as I don't make them too often. Yes, I know I use many images from Dustin Pike and make cutsie fun cards both masculine and feminine but to make a masculine card without a Dustin image, well! What can I say, I'm addicted to his images. But, when I found the image from Dude Time Doodles, aka Bonibleaux Designs I was taken with it and sentiment too. Why you may ask? Well, my DH has a baby in our garage from 1964, a Chevy Nova to be precise and that sentiment fits him exactly!! I have lost count how many times he has fixed and re fixed his car, and just when I think he's completed it....nope, he starts over with a new idea! Another project!

And if fixing the car when it's not broken isn't bad enough, he's even got Thijs involved now! (he enjoys it though so I can't complain!)

and yes, he is actually inside the car engine area placing the top on the filter!!!

This is my DH's pride and joy! Doesn't look like much but it has a lot of power under the hood and we had tire marks on the road to prove it!!!

DOODLE DRAGON - APRIL IMAGE

Happy Monday!

I just wanted to share my Dragon card that I created using one of Dustin's images from his April membership. If you would like to check out the membership please click HERE I had so much fun making this one as it reminded me of my son when he snorkles with his daddy! I created the scene by loading two images of the dragon onto my page then shrinking one of them and flipping the image so the little one is swimming in the opposite direction...I figured he would be trying to get out of being blamed for heating up the water!!! LOL My images were colored in copics and the background sunset was sponged in red ink from Martha Stewart. The dp was some I had left over so not sure where it came from. Ric rac, gems and sea shell beads are all from JoAnn's.

Thank you to all those Dustin followers who left such great comments on this card! I really appreciate them.

Sorry this is such a short post by my days are hectic lately with Teacher Appreciation planning! Hopefully next week will be a little less hectic!
